Q: What is the Spring Soirée?
A: For those of you who have attended the Spring Gala in past years, this event is very similar. We are just switching it up a bit and changing the name to go along with our school initials...MSS (Montessori School of Syracuse/Montessori Spring Soirée). Get it? Just having some fun with this event! It is a beautiful evening out celebrating MSS. We will have food stations, FREE wine (donated by Webucator), a silent auction, a live auction, and time to mingle with some other MSS families (past and present). The goal of the event is to get our community together for a fun night out and to raise money for our school!
Q: What is the proper attire? Is this a fancy event?
A: The Soirée is not a fancy gown/tux type of event. We would classify the dress code as business casual/dressy casual/cocktail attire...any of these are good choices! We want this to be a fun, kid-free night out. Our theme this year is spring flowers so we thought it would be fun, but not required, to have guests dress to the theme. You can incorporate any spring flowers or spring colors into your outfit. Ladies can choose to wear floral dresses, scarves, attach flowers to their hair, etc. Men can choose to wear a floral tie or their favorite spring colored dress shirt. Jackets are not required, but everyone should dress to their comfort level. The venue this year, The Craftsman Inn, is a laid-back and cozy atmosphere.
Q: What is the cost to attend? How do I RSVP?
A: This year, we are happy to announce that we have a friend of the school who has graciously underwritten the venue costs so that tickets are FREE to all parents, grandparents, and alumni (age 16+). Official invitations will be sent out in April with instructions on how to register. Once registration opens, you will go to the Tickets tab to reserve your spot. We do have limited seating so don't wait too long to register!
Q: Who will I sit with? Do I need to reserve a table so I can sit with my friends?
A: This year we will not be having reserved seats. It is open seating and you can choose to sit wherever you choose. Since we will be having food stations, rather than a buffet, there will be more opportunities to move around the room, check out some of the items to bid on, and therefore you won't need to be in your seat for as long!
Q: What will the food options be this year?
A: We will have 5 different food stations set up around the room and guests can enjoy the food from 6:30 - 8 PM. There won't be so much time spent at your table as the eating portion of the event will be more casual and you can move around the room to choose the food options that you like. The food options will include the following:
- Salad Bar with many toppings to choose from (including carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, chick peas, croutons, shredded cheese, crumbled blue cheese, chopped egg, bacon, ham, turkey, and grilled chicken). - GLUTEN FREE & VEGAN OPTIONS AVAILABLE
- Vegan Tacos - VEGAN & GLUTEN FREE OPTION AVAILABLE
- Chicken Satay with a Spicy Thai Peanut Sauce on the side - GLUTEN FREE
- Wood Fired Pizza (Margherita and Chicken/Bacon/Ranch)
- Dumplings (Vegetable and Pork)
